|A large crowd was in attendance at the Great Derrynoose Run 2015 last Sunday with proceeds in aid of Our Lady's & St Mochua's PS and Derrynoose GAC. Many familiar faces returned but the 10K Male and Female honours went to first time participants Dundalk man Brian McCluskey and Derrynoose lady Sarh Makem respectively. Brian completed the race in 33.50 minutes and Sarah in 42.48 minutes. Second place in the men's 10K went to last years winner Daniel Fegan with a time of 36.27 minutes with third place going to Paul Murphy from Keady on a time of 37.17 Seconds. Second in the lady's 10K was Linda Carr from Granemore on a time of 50.02 minutes with third place going to Joanne Mone on a time of 51.52 minutes. In the men's 5K local boxer Sean Duffy won the spoils on 21.35 minutes with second and third place going to Daniel Fenton and Seamus Sherry on times of 22.02 minutes and 22.55 minutes respectively. In the lady's 5K local girl Aisling Fegan came first on 26.14 minutes followed by Donna Nugent and Alice Grey on 27.59 and 28.41 respectively. Mr Gary Farrell, School Principal and Mr Niall Woods, Club Chairman, thanked all patrons, walkers and runners, for coming out and making the event such a success. They paid tribute to the School Parent's Committee and Club Volunteers for making sure all went smoothly on the day. They also thanked McGrane's Supermarket Keady, for their very generous sponsorship of the days event. Final congratulations went to the 5K Primary School winners â€“ Patrick Nugent 26.02, Dylan Mone 26.43 and Cian McMullan 26.48 â€“ Remarkable achievement!
