Boy's Win Paddy Morgan Cup!!!

Anything the Girls can do the Boys can do too!!!!
Following on from the girl's historic win last week in the Girl's Paddy Morgan Cup Championship, our school boy's team replicated the girl's success by completing the double by lifting the Boy's Paddy Morgan Cup today in Derrynoose.  This is the second time the boy's team have won the cup, winning it for the first time in 2011.  Having been defeated by St Jarlath's PS Blackwatertown in their opening game the boys beat St Mary's PS Granemore to set up a semi final spot against St Francis of Assisi PS Keady.  This was a great game with each boy playing to their full potential during torrential rain and wind but eventually overcoming a strong St Francis side to reach the final against St Jarlath's for the second time!  From the out set the boys played with gritty determintaion and hunger knowing that defeat would mean the girls having a more successful season!!  While the game went level at half time it was clear that our boys were the stronger, if they could pull out all the stops in the final half.  They did not disappoint with a final score of 6-4 ensuring that the Paddy Morgan Cup returned to our school to sit tidily alongside the girl's trophy.  Congratulations to all the boys on a great day and to our school coaching team of Mr Farrell, Mr Murray and Mr Meehan.  A job well done.  We would also like to recognise the work of our club coaches in bringing this team to this level..this is a day for you all to be proud!!!
