Our Lady's & St Mochua's Primary School, Derrynoose, was founded in September 2003 as a result of a successful amalgamation of St Mochua's PS Derrynoose and Our Lady's PS Carrickaduff.

The Department of Education, who carried out an Inspection of Our Lady's & St Mochua's in November 2008 concluded:

‘ that the quality of education at Our Lady's & St Mochua's PS was outstanding and that the quality of pastoral care was also outstanding.'

  The strengths of the school included:  the dedicated teachers, high quality of teaching, high quality of provision for children with additional learning needs, the outstanding leadership of the Principal and Vice-Principal, the high expectations of the teachers and the dedication and hard work of the entire staff.
